Being a Christian is less about cautiously avoiding sin than about courageously and actively doing God’s will. – Bonhoeffer
So much energy and time is poured into efforts to avoid sin. What would the world look like if we spent all that time and energy actively doing good? I’m struck by Bonhoeffer’s take on this: “Being a Christian is less about cautiously avoiding sin than about courageously and actively doing God’s will.”
Bonhoeffer is one of the most powerful influences in call to ministry. The Cost of Discipleship wrecked me and make me anew. Life Together made me rethink the church. Bonhoeffer’s life in itself is a challenge to a deeper discipleship. A Testament to Freedom is a great primer to this great theologian’s life and thought.
