Quote – God’s least expected entrance

“God made His entrance into this earth in the least expected of all places through the least expected of people.” – @lensweet & @FrankViola

Frank Viola and Len Sweet said this in their excellent study of Jesus, “Jesus: A Theography.”

“God made His entrance into this earth in the least expected of all places through the least expected of people.”

Everything about Jesus’ life is instructive to us about God’s heart and intention.

I think that’s what Jesus meant when he said that if we’ve seen him, we’ve seen the Father. If we expect God to appear in the places of power, at the center of the culture, we may be surprised. If we overlook those in the margins, those who are oppressed, those who are speaking to use from the edges of culture, then we are likely to miss what God is up to.
