“I understand God’s patience with the wicked, but I do wonder how He can be so patient with the pious.” – George MacDonald
I read this and thought, “I know, right?!” George MacDonald was always one for insightful and scathing quips. “I understand God’s patience with the wicked, but I do wonder how He can be so patient with the pious.”
George MacDonald was a Scottish preacher. Widely influential (Known as an influence of Mark Twain, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Lewis Carroll.) he was a profound theological influence on Christian thinking in the last century. He was unique in that he used fantasy literature as a way to express and wrestle with faith ideas. Check some of his writing out in this collection of his works.
