Quote – How Offendable Are We?

“Another helpful way to measure our level of brokenness is to consider how offendable we are.” – @petescazzero

Pete Scazzero is a pastor who has focused deeply on the importance of emotional maturity as a part of our faith. Emotional growth and spiritual growth are closely linked. As we mature in the image of Christ, we will also grow emotionally.

This insight of his is crucial for the social-media soaked reactive culture in which we find ourselves: “Another helpful way to measure our level of brokenness is to consider how offendable we are.”

Scazzero has written a couple of books that I highly recommend.  Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Unleash a Revolution in  Your Life in Christ is a good starting point.  The same principles are applied to leadership in the church in The Emotionally Healthy Church: A Strategy for Discipleship that Changes Lives.
