“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” – Gibran
I was introduced to Kalil Gibran, a Lebanese poet from the last century, in high school. His book, The Prophet, really moved me.
“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”
This evocative sentence points to how the deep truth of our heart shapes us. Our inner life is the fount from which everything else springs. That means grieving well is a vital part of a growing spiritual life.
